Fast, safe and convenient flange connections for operations that demand the highest standards in safety and operational efficiency.
No more complicated nuts and bolts: simply twist and the connection is complete.
Applications
Gall Thomson Camlock Couplings are used for all types of applications including cryogenic, submersible and hydraulic operations.
The Gall Thomson Camlocks are in everyday use throughout the world in marine loading and discharging terminals, ports, refineries, dock facilities, chemical plants and distribution centres.
Features and benefits
The Gall Thomson Camlock coupling replaces the conventional time consuming and hazardous method of drift pin, nut and bolt flange connections.
Dependable leak-proof seal
The permanently positioned O Ring face seal provides a dependable and leak-proof seal and avoids the time required and hazard of crushed hands and fingers when trying to fix conventional gaskets between flanges.
Impossible to loosen
The advanced design allows an area of contact between the cam and mating flange face. The helical arrangement ensures a definite wedging action, making it impossible to loosen during normal operating conditions when there is pressure in the line.
Easy adjustment
A round steel bar or special locking wrench are the only tools needed to lock, tighten or release the cam.
Fits any existing flange or pipe
The Gall Thomson Camlock Coupling will fit any existing flange or pipe arrangement.
How it works
The two flanges are automatically positioned within the cam blocks around the coupling and locked together.
The cams are then turned by hand using a locking bar (supplied with the Camlock coupling). Each cam takes approximately 5 seconds to lock.
Specifications
Types |
|
Studded: | Bolted direct to existing pipe/hose flanges. |
Slip-on: | Fitted over the end of the standard pipe and welded in position. |
Weld neck: | Fitted directly to the end of the pipe and welded in position. |
Short Spool Piece: | Consisting of two flanges. One flange is standard; the other incorporates the coupling cam assemblies. The flanges are connected via a short tube. The standard flange bolts directly to an existing flange. |
Coupling flange: | Raised mating face with integral sealing O Ring. |
Standard flange: | Short spool piece is a raised face without O Ring. |
Locking Bar
A locking steel bar is supplied with the Camlock coupling. Size: 15mm diameter x 9” long.
Standard Types and sizes of 150 ASA Couplings
Standard flange: 150 ASA/ANSI Also available: 300 ASA/ANSI, DIN
Blanking flanges
Blanking flanges provide protection when not in use: available in aluminium, steel or plastic.
Special requirements
Due to the simple and versatile design of the Welin Camlock Coupling, the device can be easily adapted for many special requirements. Some of which are listed below.
Flanges to suit 300Ib ASA: DIN.
Flanges in different materials: Stainless steels and steels for low temperatures down to cryogenic applications.
Couplings for submersible use including: Cam bolts fitted with O Rings; special paint finish to standards: Primer – Leighs Resistex K570 SS; Top Coat Leighs Jetrone L760B HD Black Bitumastic or similar.
Short Spool Pieces: fitted with a reducer tube between flanges.
Special seal for low temperatures: example: special fluids.
